Polish Club

Polish Club, formed in 2014 in Sydney, New South Wales, consists of vocalist and guitarist David Novak and drummer John-Henry Pajak. The duo initially comprised four members but transitioned to a two-piece, a decision that cemented their distinct sound. Their name reflects both members’ Polish heritage. The band quickly gained traction, uploading early tracks “Able,” “Show You Love,” and “Did Somebody Tell Me” to Triple J Unearthed in early 2015. This early exposure led to the release of their self-titled debut EP in October 2015, which was positively received for its raw energy and high performance standards.

Over the years, Polish Club has steadily built their career, releasing a series of well-received singles and albums. Their debut studio album, “Alright Already,” released in March 2017, peaked at number 19 on the ARIA charts and earned a nomination for Best Rock Album at the ARIA Music Awards of 2017. They followed this with “Iguana” in 2019, which reached number 20 on the ARIA charts. The band has consistently explored new sounds while maintaining their garage rock roots, incorporating elements of pop and soul into their music. Their commitment to releasing new material and engaging with their audience through tours and unique EPs, such as “Okie Dokie” and “Nye_2020_megamix.exe,” has fostered a strong connection with fans.

More recently, Polish Club continued their prolific output with “Now We’re Cookin'” in August 2021, which climbed to number 8 on the ARIA charts, and “Now We’re Cookin’ in Hell” in June 2022. They have actively engaged in social commentary through their music, exemplified by tracks like “Boys on Vacation,” which critically addressed political events. In 2024, they won the Most Performed Rock Work at the APRA Music Awards for their track “Good Time,” further cementing their place in the Australian music scene. Their latest album, “Pound Cake,” was released in May 2025, showcasing their ongoing evolution and adaptability.
