About

Quentin Richardson, born on April 13, 1980, in Chicago, Illinois, attended Whitney Young High School, where he led his team to a state AA title in 1998. He then played college basketball at DePaul University for two seasons, averaging 17.9 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. A notable achievement during his collegiate career was becoming the only player in DePaul’s history to record over 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, and 100 three-point field goals. Following his sophomore year in 2000, Richardson declared for the NBA draft.

Richardson was drafted 18th overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2000 NBA Draft. He played four seasons with the Clippers, appearing in 281 games and averaging 12.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. A career highlight during this period was scoring a career-high 44 points against the Denver Nuggets on December 31, 2003. In 2004, he signed with the Phoenix Suns, where he had a standout 2004-05 season, leading the league with 631 three-point attempts and 226 three-point field goals. He also won the NBA All-Star Three-Point Shootout in 2005. His professional journey continued with stints on the New York Knicks (2005-2009, 2013), Miami Heat (2009-2010), and Orlando Magic (2010-2012). Post-playing, Richardson served as the Director of Player Development for the Detroit Pistons from 2014 to 2016 and co-hosts “The Knuckleheads” podcast.

Throughout his 13-year NBA career, Richardson played in 783 regular-season games, averaging 10.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. He demonstrated consistent three-point shooting, finishing with a career 35.5% from beyond the arc.
