Rae Morris

Rachel Anne Morris, known professionally as Rae Morris, was born on September 2, 1992, in Blackpool, Lancashire, England. She began playing the piano at the age of four and developed an early interest in music. Her path to becoming a professional musician involved performing in her local area and attracting the attention of BBC Radio Lancashire, which led to her performing at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in August 2011. This initial exposure resulted in her signing with Universal Music Publishing Group and Atlantic Records in quick succession later that year.

Morris’s career progressed through a series of EP releases between 2012 and 2014, including “For You,” “Grow,” and “From Above.” During this period, she supported various artists such as Bombay Bicycle Club, Lianne La Havas, Noah and the Whale, and Tom Odell. A significant milestone was her contribution of guest vocals to three tracks on Bombay Bicycle Club’s 2014 album “So Long, See You Tomorrow,” including the single “Luna.” In 2014, she co-wrote and featured on Clean Bandit’s song “Up Again” from their debut album “New Eyes.” Her debut album, “Unguarded,” released in January 2015, achieved commercial success, debuting at number nine on the UK Albums Chart. She was also longlisted in the BBC Sound of 2015 poll.

Following her debut, Morris released her second album, “Someone Out There,” in February 2018, showcasing a more electronic-oriented sound. The song “Reborn” from this album was featured in the BBC’s closing montage for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. In 2021, she collaborated with TikTok star Soph Aspin on the single “Fish n Chips.” Her third album, “Rachel@Fairyland,” was released in July 2022, followed by “Rachel@Pianoland” in November 2022. Morris has consistently toured and released music, including singles and collaborations, solidifying her presence in the music industry.
