Racheal Lynn Woodward, known as RaeLynn, was born on May 4, 1994, in Baytown, Texas. She developed an interest in music early, graduating high school ahead of schedule in 2010 to pursue a singing career. In 2012, RaeLynn gained initial recognition as a contestant on the second season of “The Voice,” where she was part of Team Blake and advanced to the quarterfinals. Her performance of “She’s Country” by Jason Aldean became her best-selling cover on the show, and she later collaborated with her coach, Blake Shelton, providing backing vocals for his 2013 hit single “Boys ‘Round Here.” This early exposure provided a foundation for her subsequent career in country music.
Following her time on “The Voice,” RaeLynn signed with Republic Nashville in 2012. She continued to write music, collaborating with notable songwriters such as Natalie Hemby and Jon Randall. Her debut single to country radio, “God Made Girls,” released on July 1, 2014, became a significant success, reaching the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and earning Platinum certification from the RIAA. In January 2015, she released her EP, “Me,” which charted at No. 7 on the Top Country Albums chart. After a period where her debut album was delayed following her departure from Valory Music Co. in 2016, RaeLynn signed with Warner Bros. Nashville. Her debut album, “WildHorse,” released in March 2017, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart, a notable achievement for a female country artist at that time.
