About

Rajat Paharia founded Bunchball in 2005. Initially, Bunchball concentrated on social gaming solutions. Bunchball secured early financial support from investors such as Sunil Singh and Payman Pouladdej. In October 2006, the company completed a $2 million Series A investment round with contributions from Granite Ventures and Adobe Ventures.

Subsequently, Bunchball expanded its focus to gamification, transitioning from social gaming to broader applications in 2007. The company introduced Nitro, a product designed to allow organizations to integrate game mechanics into social networks, mobile applications, and websites. In January 2008, Bunchball raised an additional $4 million in a Series B funding round from its existing investors, Granite Ventures and Adobe Ventures. By June 2010, the company had completed a $6.5 million Series C funding round, attracting investments from Triangle Peak Partners, Northport Investments, Correlation Ventures, and Granite Ventures. These funding rounds supported Bunchball’s growth and development, helping it to build out its gamification platforms and services.

Under Paharia’s leadership, Bunchball worked with a variety of clients, including Fortune 500 companies, to implement gamification strategies aimed at increasing customer loyalty, partner interaction, and employee engagement. In 2018, Bunchball was acquired by BI Worldwide.
