Masashi Ebinuma transitioned from an internationally recognized judoka to a national and corporate coach, leveraging his competitive insights for new generations of athletes. After securing three World Judo Championships titles and earning two Olympic bronze medals, Masashi Ebinuma established himself as a dominant force in international judo, consistently ranked first in the world for three years in the half-lightweight division. His illustrious competitive career began with early successes, including a Gold Medal at the Asian U20 Championships in 2006, followed by a Gold Medal at the Summer Universiade in 2009 and two Gold Medals at the IJF Grand Prix Abu Dhabi (2009) and Grand Slam Tokyo (2009). Ebinuma was also a quadruple All-Japan national champion.
He now channels his profound competitive insights and strategic acumen into developing new generations of athletes. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Coach for the Japanese national team, specializing in the -60 kg and -66 kg men’s categories, and also provides coaching expertise for Park24, a main sponsor of the Japanese team.
