Ramona Young

Ramona Young, born on May 23, 1998, in Los Angeles, California, is an American actress, writer, and producer. She spent her early years with intermittent education in both Hong Kong, her parents’ homeland, and the United States until the age of eight. Young demonstrated early academic aptitude, graduating ahead of schedule from California State University, Los Angeles. She further honed her craft by studying acting at Playhouse West, building a foundation for her diverse career in the entertainment industry. Beyond her professional pursuits, Young is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese and has actively practiced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since childhood.

Young’s career began to gain traction in the mid-2010s with early roles such as an appearance in an episode of “Super Fun Night” in 2014. Her creative versatility was evident early on, as she wrote, produced, and starred in the short film “Reflections” in 2015, and also directed, wrote, and produced the short film “Live Exit Here.” A significant turning point in her acting career came in 2016 when she joined the cast of Syfy’s “Z Nation” as Kaya during its third season, later becoming a main cast member through 2018. The same year, she took on a recurring role as Allison in ABC’s “The Real O’Neals.”

From 2017 to 2019, Young played a recurring role as Ramona in the Netflix series “Santa Clarita Diet.” She further expanded her television presence with a recurring role as Robin in FXX’s “Man Seeking Woman” in 2017. Her film credits include the 2018 comedy “Blockers” as Angelica and “All About Nina” as Mika. In 2018, Young became a main cast member on The CW’s “Legends of Tomorrow” as Mona Wu, a role she held until 2020. More recently, she gained widespread recognition for her main role as Eleanor Wong in the Netflix series “Never Have I Ever,” which ran from 2020 to 2023. Her recent and upcoming projects include voice roles in animated series like “Super Duper Bunny League” (2025) and “Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai” (2023), and live-action roles in films like “Half Baked: Totally High” (2024) and the upcoming series “The Paper” (2025).
