Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan has risen to global prominence as a leading cricketer, celebrated for his exceptional leg-spin bowling and aggressive batting. He currently captains the Afghanistan national team in the T20I format and is a sought-after player in major franchise leagues worldwide. After making his One Day International (ODI) debut for Afghanistan against Zimbabwe in October 2015, followed by his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against the same opponent later that month, Rashid Khan rapidly rose to global prominence as a leading cricketer. His career gained significant momentum in March 2017 when he achieved his maiden T20I five-wicket haul against Ireland, taking five wickets for just three runs – the best bowling performance by an Afghan cricketer in a T20I.

He was also the fastest bowler to reach 50 wickets in T20Is in June 2018. In February 2019, Khan became the first bowler for Afghanistan to take a five-wicket haul in a Test match, achieved against Ireland. After playing his 100th international cricket match for Afghanistan in June 2019, he was appointed captain of the Afghanistan team across all three formats following the 2019 Cricket World Cup. In September 2019, Khan achieved a historic victory in his debut Test as captain against Bangladesh, where he became the youngest cricketer to captain a Test match side and the first cricketer to score a fifty and take a ten-wicket haul in his inaugural match as captain.
