Rasmus Gemke

Rasmus Gemke was born on January 11, 1997, in Viby J, Denmark. His badminton career began at a young age, leading him to be awarded the 2012 Badminton Denmark Comet of the Year. He was part of the Danish national U-19 team that secured a bronze medal at the 2015 European Junior Badminton Championships held in Lubin, Poland. He made his senior international debut at the 2016 Belgian International tournament, marking the beginning of his professional career.

Throughout his career, Gemke has achieved significant milestones in the BWF World Tour and other international competitions. He secured his first BWF World Tour title at the 2018 Spain Masters, a Super 300 event, by defeating Suppanyu Avihingsanon. He also won BWF Grand Prix title at the 2017 Bitburger Open Grand Prix Gold, and two BWF International Challenge/Series titles at the 2017 Finnish Open and 2019 Azerbaijan International. Gemke has consistently represented Denmark in team events, contributing to gold medal wins at the European Mixed Team Championships in 2019, 2021, and 2025, and at the European Men’s Team Championships in 2018 and 2024. He has also earned bronze medals in the Thomas Cup in 2020 and 2022.

His career includes multiple runner-up finishes in prestigious BWF World Tour events, demonstrating his presence at the top level of the sport. These include the 2018 Orléans Masters (Super 100), 2020 Denmark Open (Super 750), 2022 French Open (Super 750), and 2024 German Open (Super 300). His highest world ranking in men’s singles was 10, achieved on November 30, 2021. He continues to compete at an elite level, maintaining a strong position in the global badminton rankings.
