Rebel Wilson

Rebel Wilson has established a career as an actress, comedian, and producer, known for her contributions to musical comedies and feature films. After winning the Tropfest Best Actress award for her role in ‘Bargain’ in 2009, Rebel Wilson established herself as a formidable talent in comedy and acting, following her training at the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP), where she received a scholarship funded by Nicole Kidman, and with The Second City in New York. Wilson’s early career in Australia included writing and starring in the acclaimed stage musical ‘The Westie Monologues’ (2002). She quickly became a prominent female voice in Australian comedy television, appearing as Toula on the SBS comedy series ‘Pizza’ (2003–2007) and in the sketch comedy show ‘The Wedge’ (2006–2007).

The same year, Wilson released her memoir, ‘Rebel Rising,’ which quickly became a best-seller. She also serves as a proud patron of The Australian Theatre for Young People, where ‘The Rebel Theatre’ is named in her honor, celebrating her contributions to the arts. Wilson is expanding her creative footprint by making her directorial debut with the musical comedy film ‘The Deb’ (2024), a project she also co-wrote, produced, and co-stars in. Looking ahead, Wilson appeared in the Bi-ray music video ‘Butterfly (Narrative Version)’ (2025) and will next be seen in the upcoming film ‘Bride Hard.’
