Red Velvett

Stephanie M. Cardona was born on June 3, 1991, in Miami, Florida. Coming from a family with a boxing legacy, her father, Prudencio Cardona, was a world flyweight boxing champion, and her uncle, Ricardo Cardona, held a world super bantamweight boxing championship. She began her wrestling training in 2015 at Fighting Evolution Wrestling (FEW) under JB Cool in Miami. Cardona made her professional wrestling debut on March 24, 2016, under the ring name Red Velvett, competing in a singles match against Rebel. Her early career saw her achieve significant milestones, including capturing the FEW Women’s Championship on August 19, 2016, in a triple threat match against Jade and Rebel, a title she held until January 21, 2017. She later secured additional titles, such as the FEW North Women’s Championship, FTPW Ladies Championship, and LAC Women’s Championship, establishing her presence in the independent circuit.

Red Velvett transitioned to a broader stage with her All Elite Wrestling (AEW) debut on June 10, 2020, appearing on AEW Dark. She made her AEW Dynamite debut on June 24, 2020, facing Hikaru Shida. On October 13, 2020, she achieved her first victory in AEW on AEW Dark against Elayna Black. A notable turning point occurred on March 3, 2021, when she participated in a high-profile mixed tag team match on AEW Dynamite, partnering with Cody Rhodes against Jade Cargill and Shaquille O’Neal. This exposure led to her signing a full-time contract with All Elite Wrestling on March 25, 2021. Throughout 2021, she challenged for significant titles, including the NWA World Women’s Championship against Serena Deeb and the AEW Women’s World Championship against Britt Baker. She also advanced in the AEW women’s TBS championship tournament.

Her career continued to progress with an appearance in the AEW Owen Hart Cup in April 2022, where she defeated Willow Nightingale in the qualifying round. On April 13, 2022, she joined “The Baddies” stable alongside Kiera Hogan and Jade Cargill, adopting a heel persona. After sustaining an injury in June 2022, Red Velvett made her return to AEW television on November 23, 2022. In late 2023, she made her Ring of Honor (ROH) debut. In a significant career achievement, she entered the inaugural ROH Women’s World Television Championship tournament in February 2024, advancing through multiple rounds. On July 26, 2024, Red Velvett captured the ROH Women’s World Television Championship, defeating Billie Starkz at Death Before Dishonor, marking her first reign with the title.
