Over the course of 25 years, Reggie Lee’s racked up 80 acting credits, and that’s just onscreen. He’s also done national tours of musicals, as well as the Tony Award winning revival of Broadway’s Carousel.
Lee began his acting career at seventeen years old, when he was cast in the national tour of the musical, Miss Saigon. Eventually, he’d go on to Broadway, but also did plays at East West Players such as Carry the Tiger to the Mountain and F.O.B., where he won a Drama-Logue Award. Known as a strong dancer, he performed with the late musical icon, Prince, touring nationally with his show Heartstrings, as well as performing with him at the MTV Music Awards. Lee’s even done choreography, both for stage (Imelda: A New Musical) and screen (Psycho Beach Party).
As for television, Lee’s best known for playing Sergeant Drew Wu in NBC’s Grimm: a role the casting directors made specifically for him after seeing his audition. He’s also starred as Zhing Zhang in Luis, and has held recurring roles in All Rise, American Dad!, No Ordinary Family, Persons Unknown, The Division, and most notably, Prison Break, where he portrayed Bill Kim.
But Lee’s also had success on the big screen, landing roles in blockbuster films like The Dark Knight Rises (Ross), Crazy, Stupid, Love (Officer Huang), and The Fast and the Furious (Lance Nguyen). One of his parts, Tai Huang in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Lee reprised in the video game, and another part, playing Sing in Chinaman’s Chance: America’s Other Slaves, earned him a nomination from the Maverick Movie Awards.
