Reilly Opelka was born on August 28, 1997, in St. Joseph, Michigan, and later moved to Palm Coast, Florida, at the age of four. He began playing tennis regularly at 12 years old, training with the USTA in Boca Raton. Opelka’s early development was significantly influenced by Tom Gullikson. He made his professional debut in 2015, winning the Junior Wimbledon Championship in 2015 by defeating Mikael Ymer in the final. Opelka is tied as the tallest-ever ATP-ranked player at 6 feet 11 inches, known for his serves exceeding 140 miles per hour.
Opelka turned professional in 2015. His career highlights include winning four ATP singles titles and one doubles title. He achieved a career-high singles ranking of World No. 17 on February 28, 2022, and a doubles ranking of World No. 89 on August 2, 2021. Throughout his career, Opelka has accumulated substantial prize money, totaling over $5.5 million from singles and doubles combined.
