Richard Christy

Richard Christy is an American drummer, radio personality, and comedian, recognized for his work with prominent heavy metal bands and his tenure on The Howard Stern Show. After joining Public Assassin in 1992, Richard Christy quickly established himself as a dynamic force in heavy metal drumming, going on to co-found Burning Inside in 1995. His career gained significant momentum in 1996 when he joined Acheron and relocated to Orlando, Florida, immersing himself in the heavy metal scene. A pivotal moment came in 1997 when he met Chuck Schuldiner, leading to his work with Death on the critically acclaimed album The Sound of Perseverance (1998) and extensive touring across Europe, including a performance at Dynamo Open Air in the Netherlands.

Expanding his media presence, Christy hosted Richard Christy’s Heavy Metal Hoedown on Liquid Metal in 2006 and explored independent filmmaking, writing, directing, and starring in Supertwink (2006). He also secured acting roles in projects such as Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay (2007) and Rescue Me (2007), followed by Albino Farm (2009). Christy returned to his musical roots in 2009, forming the metal supergroup Charred Walls of the Damned, which released their self-titled debut in 2010, followed by Cold Winds on Timeless Days (2011) and Creatures Watching Over the Dead (2016). His versatility in entertainment continued with a notable appearance in the Marvel Studios blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.

2 in 2017, further solidifying his presence in mainstream film. Most recently, Christy released the album Glue ‘Em All with Boar Glue in 2018. He has also contributed extensive voiceover work to popular animated television series, including Metalocalypse, Rick and Morty, and Uncle Grandpa, showcasing his range across various comedic and dramatic platforms within the entertainment industry.
