Rob Palmer

Rob Palmer, born on April 15, 1975, in Australia, began his career in the construction industry at a young age. He started working at his father’s company during school holidays at nine years old. After completing school, he continued in the industry and earned a carpentry apprenticeship. In 1998, he established his own business, RJP Constructions.

Palmer’s television career commenced in 2000 when he was approached to be a presenter for “Live This!” on Channel 10, which ran until 2001. In 2004, he gained wider recognition as the DIY section presenter on the Seven Network’s “Better Homes and Gardens.” He remained with the program until the end of 2014. During this period, he also appeared on other Channel Seven programs such as “Room For Improvement” (2001–2003) and “House Calls to the Rescue.” A significant milestone in his television career was winning the 10th season of “Dancing with the Stars” in Australia in 2010, partnered with Alana Patience.

Following his departure from “Better Homes and Gardens,” Palmer continued to expand his presence in media. He started a DIY YouTube venture and, in 2018, became a regular contributor to the “Today Show” on the 9 Network. He is currently a co-host on 107.7 Triple M Central Coast radio. Palmer is also the author of two books, “How to Build a Billy Cart and other fun stuff” and “Dad Hacks.”
