Robin Esrock
Robin Esrock is a well-known travel writer and television personality in Canada, while he has also become a bestselling author as well. Originally known for his amusing and insightful articles on travel, Esrock’s work has been published in the Chicago Tribune, the Guardian, Gulf News, South China Morning Post, Cape Town Argus, Sydney Morning Herald, Vancouver Sun, Dallas Morning News, and the Toronto Star.
Residing in Vancouver, Esrock has been a regular columnist for many of the major publications in Canada, while his recent travails haven’t seen him move into television as well. Esrock is co-host of the 40-part TV series Word Travels, with the travel series having been filmed in 36 countries. Word of Travels has been picked up by stations all over the world, and has proved to be hugely popular.
Esrock cut his teeth in the world of travel as a backpacker, and indeed met his co-host for Word Travels, Julia Dimon, while backpacking in Turkey. His passion for travel is tangible within his work, and he wrote a column for the Vancouver Sun while backpacking around the world.
Esrock has travelled to over 100 countries on 7 continents, with many of these recent journeys involving public speaking engagements. In 2013, Esrock won the Destination Canada award for Best Online Video at the Go Media Marketplace Awards in Winnipeg. There is no doubt that Esrock is one of the world’s experts on the travel industry and the practicalities of everyday travel.
