Rsonist (Heatmakerz) secured his first major label placement in 2000 on Canibus’s ‘2000 B.C.’ album, marking the start of a multi-platinum producing career that would shape generations of hip-hop. His transition to professional production was catalyzed by Brooklyn-based producer Todd Terry, who purchased Rsonist’s initial two tracks and provided $20,000 worth of equipment in 2000. This foundational support enabled Rsonist to establish The Heatmakerz with Sean Thomas (Thrilla) and record sessions with artists like Big Pun and Fat Joe, leading to subsequent work with Ghostface Killah and Cam’ron. In 2003, The Heatmakerz gained significant recognition by producing eleven songs on The Diplomats’ debut album, ‘Diplomatic Immunity.’ This landmark project featured hit singles such as ‘Dipset Anthem’ and ‘I’m Ready,’ solidifying their status and defining the ‘Harlem sound’ as the ‘Sound of New York.’ Following Sean Thomas’s departure in 2007, Rsonist continued to operate under The Heatmakerz brand as a solo endeavor.

Demonstrating his versatility and leadership, Rsonist served as both executive producer and sole producer for Jim Jones’s critically acclaimed album ‘El Capo’ (2019), which achieved remarkable independent success with over 200 million on-demand audio streams.
