The wonderful sportsman Ryan “Dynamite” Day is a professional snooker player, known as a prolific break-builder, who has been placed as high as No.6 in the world snooker rankings. He has won four ranking titles, and has reached the quarter-finals of The Masters three times.
Born and raised in Wales, Day started playing snooker at a young age. He was regarded as a top amateur and reached the final of the 1998 IBSF Championship when he was 18. He started his professional career on the UK Tour in 1998, and for the 2000-01 season was named Young Player of Distinction by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association. He won the 2001 Benson & Hedges Championship and qualified for the 2002 Masters.
Since then, Day has proven himself to be a formidable opponent on the baize at tournaments and events across the globe. He reached the finals of the 2006-07 European Masters; the 2007-08 Shanghai Masters; the 2008-09 World Open; the 2010-11 Beijing International Challenge; the 2016-17 Championship League; the 2016-17 World Grand Prix; and the 2018-19 Gibraltar Open. While his impressive victories have come at the 2017-18 Riga Masters, Gibraltar Open, and Romanian Masters, as well as at the 2020-21 Shoot Out, and at the 2022-23 British Open.
