Internet sensation Salif Gueye shot to fame when a video of him dancing to ‘Rock With You’ by Michael Jackson went viral across the world. The young street dancer caught the attention of dance enthusiasts around the globe when the video of him dancing in his native Paris went viral, and the clip was even shared online by Hollywood movie star The Rock and basketball icon LeBron James. Gueye’s Instagram following expanded from under 10,000 fans to over 1.3 million almost overnight, and Ellen DeGeneres was so impressed by Gueye’s talent that she flew him to Los Angeles to appear on her show.
The young French dancer has been a huge fan of Michael Jackson’s moves since he was three years old and taught himself how to dance. Gueye was performing his incredible dance moves close to the Centre Pompidou in Paris when a friend recorded him entertaining a crowd with his breath-taking dance moves. With an ability to nail Jackson’s famous moonwalk dance but on the gritty streets of the city, dance fans around the world were amazed by his performance.
Gueye’s wowed the audience on The Ellen DeGeneres Show with his performance of ‘Black or White’, receiving a standing ovation. Since then his career has been on an unstoppable rise, and he has performed at a private birthday party for Hollywood star Will Smith, danced at the Ballon d’Or 2018 ceremony in front of the world’s greatest footballers and became an ambassador for fashion giant Lacoste. With his dancing skills in-demand from the likes of DJ David Guetta and French rapper BLACK M, this street dancer from Paris now has the world at his feet.
