Sami Zayn

Commencing his professional wrestling career on March 1, 2002, Sami Zayn performed as Stevie McFly before adopting the masked persona of El Generico, wrestling extensively across North America, Europe, and Japan. He achieved significant recognition in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), becoming a two-time PWG World Champion (2007, 2011) and a five-time PWG World Tag Team Champion. Zayn also won PWG’s annual Dynamite Duumvirate Tag Team Title Tournament (2010) and the Battle of Los Angeles (2011). His diverse early career included two reigns as IWS World Heavyweight Champion (2004, 2008), the ROH World Television Championship (2011), and the ROH World Tag Team Championship alongside Kevin Steen (2008).

His distinctive in-ring style, combining high-flying aerial maneuvers with hard-hitting strikes, has enabled him to compete at the highest level against diverse opponents including John Cena, Seth Rollins, and Shinsuke Nakamura. Beyond his achievements in the squared circle, Zayn is also recognized for his significant humanitarian efforts, establishing the ‘Sami for Syria’ fund in July 2017 to provide vital support to the Syrian American Medical Society.
