Sarah Anderson

Sarah Anderson, born on February 25, 1995, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, began her curling career at a young age, following in the footsteps of her parents, Wayne and Arlene Anderson, who were originally from Winchester, Ontario. Along with her twin sister, Taylor Anderson, and her other sisters, Sarah was introduced to the sport early in life. She attended Marple Newtown High School in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, and later pursued higher education at DeVry University and the University of Minnesota. Her early career saw her competing in the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria, where her mixed-gender curling team secured a fifth-place finish. This initial exposure to international competition laid the groundwork for her future achievements in the sport.

Anderson’s career progressed significantly through her junior and women’s curling achievements. She won gold at the U.S. Mixed Doubles Championships in both 2015 and 2018, showcasing her versatility in different formats of the sport. A notable milestone was her silver medal win at the 2016 World Junior Curling Championships. In 2019, she, alongside her twin sister Taylor, won the U.S. Women’s Curling Championship, a title they again secured in 2021. Her participation in numerous World Curling Tour (WCT) events, including victories at the Molson Cash Spiel and St. Paul Cash Spiel, further solidified her competitive standing. She has consistently competed at the World Women’s Curling Championships and World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships, representing the United States on multiple occasions.

More recently, Anderson has continued to achieve recognition in mixed doubles curling. Partnering with Andrew Stopera, she secured a second-place finish at the 2023 United States Mixed Doubles Curling Championship. This partnership led to their qualification for the 2025 United States Mixed Doubles Curling Olympic Trials, where they again finished second. In 2024, Anderson announced a shift in her women’s curling focus, joining the Delaney Strouse rink before subsequently deciding to step back from women’s curling in 2025. She continues to reside in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
