United States Sarah Tanno is a prominent makeup artist who has translated her extensive experience with global pop stars into entrepreneurial success and brand collaborations.
Sarah Tanno was named the Global Artistry Director of Haus Labs in 2019. She collaborated closely with Lady Gaga on the creation and development of the makeup brand, challenging traditional beauty norms.
iDESIGN partnered with Sarah Tanno to create the 'iDESIGN Signature Series x Sarah Tanno Collection,' a line of sustainable beauty organization products. The 28-piece collection launched exclusively on Amazon in March 2021.

Sarah Tanno-Stewart, born February 1, 1981, established her career as a makeup artist around 2001 in Los Angeles. Her early work included collaborations with notable photographers such as Chadwick Tyler and celebrity clients like Fergie, Katy Perry, and Kelis. In 2009, Tanno moved to New York, initially working as the makeup artist for Lady Gaga’s dancers. This period, from 2009 to 2014, allowed her to observe and learn the specifics of Lady Gaga’s artistic needs and preferences. By September 2014, Tanno transitioned to become Lady Gaga’s personal day-to-day and event makeup artist, a role she has maintained since.
Her career progression saw a significant turning point in 2019 when she was appointed the Global Artistry Director for Lady Gaga’s beauty brand, Haus Laboratories. This achievement highlighted her expertise and deep understanding of creative direction in the beauty industry. Over the years, Tanno has contributed to numerous high-profile projects, including Lady Gaga’s tours such as The Fame Ball, Monster Ball: Theater, Monster Ball: Arena, Live at Roseland Ballroom, artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball, Cheek To Cheek Tour, and the Joanne World Tour.
