Scott Eckel is an Australian drummer and upcoming talent. He is best known for being a key part of the pop-punk band MAKEOUT. Their debut album, The Good Life, was released in 2017, and was lauded by music critics. They supported punk legends Blink-182, gaining them global recognition and a rapidly growing fanbase.
Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, Eckels has had a long-term fascination with music, and this quickly translated into him developing into a distinctive and celebrated talent on the drums. He moved to LA in order to pursue seriously a career as a musician, and eventually joined the band MAKEOUT. After signing to the record label Rise Records, their debut album featured collaborations with top artists such as Five Seconds of Summer, Feldy and Travis Barker. Their producer is the famed John Feldmann, whose vision was instrumental in shaping the band’s sound.
Alongside Eckels’ work with MAKEOUT, he has been working with the newly-established band Five North, whose line-up includes household name Tyler Posey. Working with Five North has given Eckels the opportunity to develop and diversify his skills, working with a more experimental style of pop punk. The band released the EP Scumbag in March 2020, and are focused on preparing an upcoming tour. They are signed to John Feldmann’s imprint Big Noise, and have been streamed widely on all major streaming sites.
