Scott Eckel

Scott Eckel was born and raised in Charleville, Queensland, Australia. His musical journey commenced at the age of six, guided by his father and uncle. This early exposure to music provided a foundation for his drumming career. Currently based in Brisbane, Eckel has steadily built a professional career in the music industry. His technical skills and consistent performance have contributed to his recognition in the pop-punk and rock scenes.

In 2016, a significant turning point occurred when Eckel was scouted by John Feldmann, a renowned producer known for his work with bands such as Goldfinger and Blink-182. This led to a production deal under Feldmann and Travis Barker, a prominent drummer. This partnership resulted in collaborations and writing sessions directly with Travis Barker. He also performed in shows with Blink-182 and participated in the final Vans Warped Tour, demonstrating his active involvement in the music festival circuit and performances alongside established artists. Eckel currently plays full-time for three distinct musical projects: MAKEOUT, Five North, and for Tyler Posey of MTV’s “Teen Wolf”.

As a member of MAKEOUT, formerly Trophy Wives, Eckel contributed to the band’s evolution from independently produced EPs to signing with Rise Records. The band released their debut album, *The Good Life*, in 2017. MAKEOUT also gained visibility by opening for Blink-182 and The Naked and Famous. Following lineup changes, Eckel remained a core member, demonstrating dedication to the band’s continuity and musical direction. The band released new music in 2020 with the updated lineup, including the single “Home,” showcasing their ongoing creative output. Eckel’s consistent involvement across multiple musical groups highlights his commitment and adaptability as a professional drummer.
