He spent his early childhood in Chelsea, Quebec, before relocating to Pemberton, British Columbia, where he currently resides. Pettit gained early recognition, signing with Red Bull at the age of 13, making him their youngest athlete at the time. This marked a significant turning point in his career, propelling him into the professional skiing circuit.
Throughout his career, Pettit has become known for his contributions to big mountain skiing and his appearances in numerous ski films.
