Shohei Miura

Shohei Miura was born on June 3, 1988, in Chofu, Japan. His career in entertainment began in 2007 when he participated in the 20th Junon Superboy Contest, where he received both the Photogenic Award and the Ideal Lover Award. Prior to this, he had already made appearances on television variety programs in 2006, including being featured four times on TBS’s “E Musume!” and appearing regularly on NTV’s “Good Lookin’ Club.” These early experiences provided a foundation for his transition into acting.

Miura made his acting debut in 2008 in the drama series “Gokusen 3,” portraying Shunsuke Kamiya, one of the main students. He reprised this role for his big-screen debut in “Gokusen The Movie.” A significant milestone in his career occurred in 2010 when he secured his first starring role in a stage play, “Samurai 7.” The following year, in 2011, he received critical acclaim, winning the Best New Actor Award at the 34th Japan Academy Prize for his performance in “Umizaru 3: The Last Message.” Throughout his career, Miura has maintained a consistent presence across various acting platforms, including TV dramas like “Hanazakari no Kimitachi e 2011,” films such as “Brave Hearts: Umizaru,” and more recently, “Usogui” in 2022 and “Ameku Takao no Suiri Karte” scheduled for 2025. He married Mirei Kiritani on July 26, 2018. Miura is represented by the talent agency Burning Production, and he maintains an active online presence through his official Instagram and X accounts.
