The multi-talented Simeon Rice is a actor, director, producer, writer, TV host, and former professional Football defensive end. He most famously played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL, helping them win Super Bowl XXXVII in 2003. After retiring from football he started his own record label, Lucid Dream Entertainment, and also attended the New York Film Academy. His first feature, Unsullied, was released in 2015. In 2021 he joined WTSP Florida as a co-host of the pre-game show The Blitz.
Born and raised in Chicago, Rice was a gifted footballer from a young age. He played throughout his High School years, and then at the University of Illinois where he was named Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Year 1992, Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year 1994, 2x First-Team All-American 1994, and 1995, and winner of the Jack Lambert Trophy 1995. He turned professional when he was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the 1996 NFL Draft, signing a four-year, $9.5 million contract. He had a successful time with the side being named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year 1996, and Pro Bowl and Second-team All-Pro in 1999. He became a free agent after the 2000 season and signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a five-year deal worth more than $30 million. During his time with the Buccaneers he was 2x Pro Bowl (2002, 2003), Second-team All-Pro 2003, First-team All-Pro 2002, and won Super Bowl XXXVII. After he was released at the end of the 2006 season he briefly joined the Denver Broncos, and then the Indiana Colts. He sat out the 2008 season, and then signed with the New York Sentinels of the UFL in 2009.
