Sonika Vaid was born on August 4, 1995, in Weston, Massachusetts. She later moved to Martha’s Vineyard. Vaid comes from a musical family, with her grandfather’s influence cited as a source of her musical talent. She gained public recognition during her appearance on the fifteenth season of American Idol in 2016. Her performances throughout the competition showcased her vocal abilities, leading her to achieve a fifth-place finish.
During her time on American Idol, Vaid performed a variety of songs, including “Look at Me” by Carrie Underwood during her audition and several songs by Ariana Grande, such as “Problem” and “One Last Time.” She also performed “Safe and Sound” by Capital Cities, and “I Surrender” by Celine Dion. Her journey on the show concluded after her performances of “Clarity” by Zedd and “Let It Go” from Disney’s Frozen. Following her singing career, Vaid transitioned into the real estate sector.
In 2022, Sonika Vaid began working as a real estate agent at The Agency RE, associated with Mauricio Umansky. This career shift led to her becoming a main cast member on the Netflix reality television series “Buying Beverly Hills,” which premiered on November 4, 2022. She has featured in 18 episodes of the series between 2022 and 2024, combining her background in entertainment with her new profession in real estate.
