Stephanie Mitelman

Stephanie Mitelman, a Certified Sexuality Educator (CSE) through AASECT and a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) with the National Council of Family Relations, brings a distinguished career in sex and family life education, specializing in support for individuals with diverse needs. Having served as a faculty member in the Department of Educational Counselling and Psychology at McGill University for seventeen years, Mitelman transitioned to part-time faculty at Concordia University in 2005. At Concordia, within the Department of Applied Human Sciences, she instructs courses on human sexuality, diversity in human relations, and family life education. Concurrently, she founded Sexpressions in 2000, her initial venture into providing educational resources.

In 2004, Mitelman further expanded her impact by co-founding the Sexual Health Network of Quebec, re-launched from the former Planned Parenthood of Montreal. A pivotal moment in Mitelman’s career was the establishment of Senseez Pillows in 2012. Driven by a personal motivation, she developed a line of vibrating pillows designed to assist individuals with sensory requirements, particularly those with autism, ADHD, and sensory processing disorder. The innovative company garnered significant attention, leading to an appearance on CBC’s ‘Dragon’s Den’ web episodes in 2013 and earning her the Gold Stevie Award for Female Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015.
