Stephen Thompson Jr

Stephen Mark Thompson Jr. was born on March 23, 1997, in Harbor City, California. He developed his basketball skills early, attending Bishop Montgomery High School in Torrance, California, where he quickly made a name for himself. During his high school career, he set multiple school records, including career points (2,246), season points (803), and career wins (114), while maintaining a 4.33 GPA. His performance earned him recognition as a MaxPreps All-American and CIF Southern Section Division IV High School Player of the Year, alongside invitations to prestigious camps like the Nike LeBron James Skills Academy and the NBA Top 100 Camp. These early achievements laid the foundation for his successful collegiate and professional career.

Thompson Jr. continued his academic and athletic pursuits at Oregon State University, where he played for the Oregon State Beavers men’s basketball team from 2015 to 2019. Throughout his four years, he consistently demonstrated his scoring ability and leadership, ultimately becoming fourth all-time in scoring (1,767 points) and first in 3-pointers made (230) for the program. He earned numerous accolades, such as selection to the All-Pac-12 Second Team and being named the Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2019. His collegiate career showcased his ability to perform under pressure, scoring game-winning points on several occasions.

Following his collegiate career, Thompson Jr. embarked on a professional journey that included stints with the Wisconsin Herd, Erie BayHawks, Stella Azzurra Roma, Reggio Emilia, Bnei Herzliya, and Vaqueros de Bayamón. He has achieved multiple professional milestones, including two BSN championships in 2022 and 2025 with Vaqueros de Bayamón. On the international stage, he has proudly represented Puerto Rico in competitions such as the FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, demonstrating his commitment and skill on a global platform.
