Steve Garvey

Steve Garvey is an indelible figure in baseball history, transitioning from a decorated MLB player to a respected public speaker and advocate for plant-based wellness. After being drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1968, Steve Garvey went on to achieve an iconic 19-year Major League Baseball career, debuting in 1969. Earning his Bachelor of Science in health and physical education in 1971, Garvey became a cornerstone of the Dodgers’ enduring infield for eight and a half years. In 1974, he made history as a write-in candidate for the All-Star Game and secured the National League MVP Award, marking the first of six consecutive seasons with 200 or more hits.

He has become a sought-after motivational speaker for corporations across various industries. His commitment to philanthropy led him to join the board of the Baseball Assistance Team, a non-profit dedicated to supporting former baseball players. Garvey is also a prominent advocate for plant-based wellness, co-founding Level Select CBD and actively promoting Kadenwood’s product lines. His post-baseball endeavors include acting appearances in television shows like ‘Just Shoot Me!’ and the film ‘The Sandlot 2.’ In recognition of his athletic and academic achievements, Steve Garvey was inducted into the Michigan State University Hall of Fame in 2010, and his baseball jersey number 10 was retired by the university in 2014.

In 2019, he was selected as part of the inaugural class of ‘Legends of Dodger Baseball.’ More recently, Garvey has entered the political arena, running as a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate from California.
