Summer Rappaport

Summer Rappaport, born July 25, 1991, in Denver, Colorado, began her athletic career at Villanova University where she was a member of the NCAA Division I swim and cross-country teams. During her four years at Villanova, she consistently performed well, placing in the top eight at the Big East Championship for swimming. In cross-country, she earned Academic honors in 2011-12, was All-Mid-Atlantic Region and All-Big East in 2012, and achieved a fourth-place finish at the 2013 Big East Championships in the 5,000 meters. Her dual athletic background in both swimming and running laid the foundation for her future in multi-sport racing.

After graduating from Villanova in 2013 with a degree in political science, Rappaport joined the USA Triathlon Collegiate Recruitment Program. This program identified her potential as an elite triathlete, leading her to begin competing professionally in March 2014. Her early career saw her make an ITU World Cup debut in 2014, securing top-five finishes at various ITU Continental Cup events. A significant turning point came in 2019 when she qualified for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Triathlon Team, becoming the first American triathlete to do so. She competed at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, placing 14th in the Olympic Distance – Women event.

Throughout her career, Rappaport has accumulated numerous medals and rankings. She achieved a silver medal at the World Triathlon Championship Series in Yokohama, Japan, in 2021, and a bronze medal at the HAMBURG WASSER 2021 World Triathlon Championship Series. In 2022, she earned a bronze medal as part of the Team USA Mixed Relay team at the World Triathlon Sprint & Relay Championships Montreal and another bronze at the 2022 Europe Triathlon Mixed Relay Club Championships Banyoles. Rappaport continues to compete at an elite level, focusing on international events and further Olympic aspirations, demonstrating consistent performance in the triathlon circuit.
