Tahmoh Penikett

Tahmoh Penikett was born on May 20, 1975, in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. He is the son of former Yukon premier Anthony David John Penikett and Lulla Sierra Johns, an Upper Tanana woman from the White River First Nation. Penikett graduated from the Victoria Motion Picture School and furthered his acting studies at the Lyric School of Acting in Vancouver, British Columbia. His early career included various roles in Canadian television series, establishing a foundation for his later work in prominent science fiction and drama productions.

His significant career milestone came with his portrayal of Karl “Helo” Agathon in SyFy’s 2004 television series *Battlestar Galactica*. Initially planned as a character for only the miniseries, his performance led to the character becoming central to the series’ narrative from 2004 to 2009. Following this, Penikett took on the lead role of Paul Ballard in Joss Whedon’s *Dollhouse* from 2009 to 2010. His work has also included roles in *Man of Steel* (2013), *Continuum*, and *Supernatural*.

Throughout his career, Penikett has appeared in films, television series, and video games, demonstrating versatility across different genres and platforms. He has engaged in voice acting for animated series and video games, such as Darius in *Need for Speed: Carbon* (2006) and Troy Hammerschmidt in *Titan Maximum* (2009). His commitment to his craft is further seen in his involvement in independent projects and charity work, including auctioning dinner with a *Battlestar Galactica* colleague to support the Babz Chula Lifeline for Artists Society.
