Switzerland Tanja Huberli has established herself as a leading figure in beach volleyball, achieving Olympic and European Championship medals.
Tanja Hüberli and Leona Kernen join the Swatch Proteam as Switzerland's dynamic beach volleyball duo. This partnership combines Huberli's Olympic experience with Kernen's rising talent, aiming for gold at the 2028 Olympics and embodying Swatch’s spirit of joy.
Tanja Huberli was born on August 27, 1992, in Thalwil, Switzerland. She began her career in beach volleyball, developing into an Olympic athlete representing Switzerland. Huberli first competed in the Olympic Games at Tokyo 2020, where she and her partner Nina Betschart finished ninth overall. Her early career also included playing with Tanja Goricanec from 2013 to 2015.
Huberli’s career progressed significantly with her partnership with Nina Brunner (née Betschart) from 2016 to 2024. This partnership yielded substantial achievements, including a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She has also secured multiple European Championship titles, winning gold in Vienna in both 2021 and 2023. Her European Championship record also includes silver medals in Cagliari (2014), Netherlands (2018), and Munich (2022).
On the World Beach Pro Tour, Huberli continued to demonstrate consistent performance, earning gold medals in Tepic and Hamburg in 2024. She also achieved silver medals in Hamburg (2022), Doha (2023), Espinho (2024), and Yucatan (2025), along with bronze medals in Doha (2022) and Ostrava (2022). Additionally, on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour, she secured a gold medal in Baden (2020), a silver medal in Sochi (2021), and bronze medals in Klagenfurt (2016), Porec (2017), The Hague (2018), and Moscow (2018). For the 2025 season, Huberli will partner with Leona Kernen.
