Tanner Horgan is a Canadian curler from Sudbury in Ontario who is a rising star in the sport. As a junior, he won the Northern Ontario Junior Curling Championships on three separate occasions in 2010, 2013 and 2016. He and his team also made it to the finals of the 2016 Canadian Junior Curling Championships after finishing the round robin in first place with an incredible 9-1 record. Horgan was also a participant in the 2018 Tim Hortons Brier. More recently he qualified for both the Tour Challenge and the Canadian Open during the 2022/23 curling season.
Born into a family of skilful curlers, Horgan currently plays in the fourth position alongside his brother Jacob Horgan, who himself is a seven-time Northern Ontario junior champion. Horgan competed in his very first provincial competition when he qualified for the 2016 Northern Ontario men’s curling championship, something he regards as one of the best achievements of his career to date.
Despite being so early in his career as a curler, Horgan has already made a huge impression amongst Canadian curling fans. One of the clear up-and-comers in the sport, Horgan is sure to continue to improve his game and one day compete at the highest possible levels of the sport. Outside of curling, Horgan is employed as a civil servant in Canada, but his greatest ambition will always be to compete in the Winter Olympics, a feat that is well within his reach if his career trajectory carries on the way it is.
