The stunning and multi-talented Taryn Manning is an actress, singer/songwriter, model, and entrepreneur. She is best known for playing Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Doggett in the hit Netflix series Orange Is the New Black. She is also a fashion designer, and was the vocalist for electronic duo Boomkat alongside her brother Kellin. She has also appeared on the cover of numerous magazines, including Playboy, FHM, Stuff, and Dazed & Confused.

Born in Virginia, and raised in Arizona and California, Manning was active in dance, karate, and acting as a child. She made her professional acting debut in 1994 when she was 16 appearing in an episode of All That entitled Boomkat (which she would go on to name her band after). She quickly began to build up a portfolio of work, which included The Practice, Get Real, Speedway Junky, NYPD Blue, and Boston Public. She also auditioned for the American version of the reality TV talent show Popstars in 2001. She made her movie debut proper in 2001’s Crazy/Beautiful, and then appeared in Crossroads, 8 Mile, White Oleander, and Cold Mountain. Her breakthrough came when she was cast as prostitute Nola in 2005’s acclaimed drama Hustle & Flow. After that her star quickly rose and she went on to appear in such productions as Weirdsville, Drive, Jack and Jill vs. the World, Sons of Anarchy, Hawaii Five-O, and, of course, Orange Is the New Black.

Manning’s music career began when she and her brother Kellin formed Boomkat in 2003, and their first single, The Wreckoning, hit No.1 in the charts. Their debut album, Boomkatalog.One, was released the same year, and a second album, A Million Trillion Stars, came out five years later. In 2009 Manning started a solo career, performing her debut single, So Talented, on an episode of Melrose Place. She has continued to release tracks ever since, juggling her music career with her acting, and in 2020, her single Time Wasted, came out for digital streaming.

Manning regularly connects with her millions of followers and admirers through Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, posting pictures and videos about her life both on and off the screen and in and out of the recording studio.
