One of wrestling’s biggest stars, Taya Valkyrie made waves in the industry when she signed with WWE in 2021 after leaving Impact Wrestling. The Canadian professional wrestler has been in the industry for over ten years, and is also an actress, model and fitness competitor who has featured in numerous calendars and fitness magazines throughout her career. Before signing to WWE the stunning star was most famous for her time in Impact Wrestling, where she won the Impact Knockouts championship in 2019 from Tessa Blanchard and held it for 377 days to become the longest running Knockouts champion. Always one to push boundaries, she became only the second woman in history to challenge for the Impact World Championship in 2020, a title traditionally held by male wrestlers.
Born Kira Renée Magnin-Forster in Victoria, British Columbia, Valkyrie is a classically trained ballerina who studied in dance and trained in gymnastics. After studying at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, she began fitness modelling and competing in fitness competitions in 2005, going on to win the CBBF Canadian Championships 2010 and finish runner up in the Arnold Amateur a year later.
Valkyrie’s wrestling career also began in 2010 when she started training at Storm Wrestling Academy with Lance Storm. After competing at various Canadian promotions, she enjoyed a long stint on the Mexican independent circuit before making her debut for Impact Wrestling in September 2017.
Now signed to WWE, there is lot more to come from this wrestling queen who has already broken down barriers in the world of sports entertainment. Outside of the ring Valkyrie is a fashion student at the Academy of Art University and launched her successful streetwear brand LOCA by Taya Valkyrie in 2020.
