Temi Fagbenle

Temi Fagbenle is a British-Nigerian-American professional basketball player for the Golden State Valkyries, recognized for her WNBA championship and international career. After being selected by the Minnesota Lynx in the third round of the 2016 WNBA Draft, Temi Fagbenle went on to earn a WNBA championship with the Lynx in her rookie season in 2017. Fagbenle’s exceptional talent was evident early in her career, earning her selection to the McDonald’s All-American High School team in 2011. She continued to excel collegiately, being named Ivy League Rookie of the Year in 2013, First-team All-Ivy League in 2014, and receiving an All Pac-12 Team honor in 2016.

Temi Fagbenle has also been a prominent figure on the international stage, representing Great Britain across multiple levels, including the under-16, 18, and 20 national teams. She competed in the 2011 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship for Women and was a key member of the Great Britain team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where she averaged 4.8 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1.2 blocks, and 1 steal in 19.2 minutes per game. In January 2024, Fagbenle made a highly anticipated return to the WNBA, signing a training camp contract with the Indiana Fever. She successfully made the final roster and played in the first eight regular-season games before a left foot injury limited her availability.

Her journey continues with a landmark move to the Golden State Valkyries, as she was notably selected by the team in the WNBA expansion draft on December 6, 2024, positioning her as a foundational player for their inaugural 2025 season.
