Joining the Five Directions of the World wushu boarding school in 2003, Magomedsharipov dedicated over a decade to rigorous training multiple times a day under Gusein Magomaev. This extensive background in various disciplines contributed to his distinctive and versatile fighting approach in mixed martial arts.
Magomedsharipov made his professional MMA debut in 2012, accumulating a record of 6 wins and 1 loss before joining Absolute Championship Berkut (ACB). In ACB, he achieved a perfect 6-0 record, culminating in winning and successfully defending the ACB Featherweight Championship. His success led to a four-fight deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in May 2017.
