Thaísa Menezes first achieved international acclaim as a pivotal member of the Brazilian national team, securing a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Prior to this, in 2002, Menezes earned her first club-level silver medal in the Brazilian championship with the Minas team in Belo Horizonte. That same year, she debuted for Brazil’s youth and junior national teams, where she won South American championships in both categories. She further elevated her profile by becoming a world champion with both youth and junior teams in 2003, establishing herself as a formidable force in international volleyball.
Throughout her illustrious club career, Menezes has been a key player for renowned teams including Minas Tênis Clube, Rio de Janeiro Vôlei Clube, Osasco Voleibol Clube, Turkish powerhouse Eczac?ba?? VitrA, and Hinode Barueri. After a temporary retirement from the national team in 2018, Menezes made a celebrated return to international play in 2023, participating in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League and the Olympic qualifying tournament. Her impactful comeback culminated in a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, a testament to her enduring skill and leadership. Following this historic achievement, Menezes announced her retirement from international play in 2024.
