Thandar Bo was born on January 1, 1993, in Yangon, Myanmar, the youngest of three siblings. Her father is a musician, Paw Shan, and her elder sister, Chaw Yadanar, is a Myanmar Academy Award-winning actress. Thandar Bo received her education at Basic Education High School No. 2 Bahan and later graduated from Dagon University with a degree in History. Her career in entertainment started with training from John Lwin’s John International Modeling Agency, where she developed her skills in modeling and catwalk. She participated in numerous advertising shows and runway events, including the Myanmar International Fashion Week annually. Her modeling work led to appearances in TV commercials, music videos, and magazine covers.
Thandar Bo made her acting debut in 2010 with a main role in the film “Yun.” In 2012, she gained broader attention with her big screen debut in “A Phyu Yaung Ye Dike” (The White Castle), which was released in Myanmar cinemas in 2013. She continued to expand her career into music, releasing her debut solo album, “Nar Lal Pay Par Ko,” on September 19, 2013. This album achieved commercial success and helped her establish a larger fanbase. She also performed at the first MTV EXIT LIVE event in Myanmar in October 2013.
Her popularity continued to rise with her role in the 2015 big-screen film “Zoot Kyar,” released on September 29, 2017, which became a significant hit. Following this success, she starred in the drama film “A Way Chit,” which was released on October 12, 2018. In 2019, Thandar Bo made her debut in a television series, “Moe Saung Nway,” broadcast on Lar Lar Kyi. Throughout her career, she has consistently been involved in both film and music projects, showcasing her versatility as an entertainer in Myanmar.
