Thibaut Courtois is a Belgian professional footballer who is best known for playing as goalkeeper for Real Madrid, as well is playing internationally for Belgium. Having played for Belgium from a young age and played a key part in Belgium’s Belgian Pro League victory, Courtois signed to Chelsea in 2011 with an £8 million fee. Courtois was the youngest goalkeeper to represent Belgium when he made his debut in 2011 and he has since earned over 70 caps and has played in many esteemed and prestigious cups and tournaments.
During his early years at the club, he was loaned to Atletico Madrid where he won the Europa League, the Copa del Rey and the La Liga title in just three years with the club. Courtois has also won many individual awards for his skill and performances on the pitch, including the Ricardo Zamora trophy for best goalkeeper in La Liga.
Courtois returned to Chelsea in 2014 and made a distinct impression in his debut season, taking them to win the League Cup and the Premier League title. Courtois was awarded the Premier League Golden Glove in 2016 and was later signed to Real Madrid for £35 million in 2018, becoming La Liga’s most expensive goalkeeper.
