Tiffany Yu

Tiffany Yu’s story begins in Bethesda, Maryland, where she was raised before a car accident at age nine changed the course of her life. The crash claimed the life of her father and left her with a permanent brachial plexus injury, and she later developed post-traumatic stress disorder as a result. Those early experiences shaped a perspective that would go on to inform her life’s work.

After graduating from Georgetown College at Georgetown University in 2010, Yu built a career at the intersection of business and advocacy. Born in 1988, she emerged as an American entrepreneur and disability rights advocate, and founded Diversability, a social enterprise dedicated to advocating for equality for people with disabilities.

Through Diversability, Yu has worked to reframe how disability is discussed in professional and public spaces, building a community-driven platform that centers the voices of people with disabilities. Her dual identity as a businessperson and advocate has made her a sought-after voice on disability inclusion.

Beyond her entrepreneurial venture, Yu’s personal journey — from a life-altering childhood accident to becoming a nationally recognized advocate — reflects a sustained commitment to changing perceptions and expanding opportunity for disabled people everywhere.
