Tim Durtschi, given the nickname of Dirtski, is a professional and commercial skier. His passion for the sport and his evolution into a sports entertainment personality has gained him many successes. He has worked with big names such as Warren Miller, Field Productions and Teton Gravity Research.
Born in Anchorage, Alaska, Durtschi grew up surrounded by mountains and open snow. His upbringing was the ideal environment for his skiing talents to grow and develop. Since then, he has been skiing professionally in competitions such as The Freeride World Tour, Linecatcher, the Swatch Skier Cup and Cold Rush. He has channelled his wealth of experience into coaching at summer camps, training the next generation of skiers. He himself has been inspired by the huge impact of great mentorship on his own career, and desires to pass on his skills in the same way.
Alongside his competition experience, Durtschi is a huge filmmaking aficionado, and has cultivated partnerships with multiple media companies. The most important partnership he has is with the aforementioned Teton Gravity Research; together they have made high-octane, visually stunning productions which emphasise the thrilling and daredevil nature of professional skiing. Their film Winterland covered Durtschi’s season skiing in the vast Jackson area, cited as one of his best-ever seasons. He has also partnered with Atomic Sports, one of the leading purveyors of skiing and snowboard accessories.
