Hailed as the “Fire Kid” for his explosive power and youthful looks, former Mixed Martial Arts champion Tom Duquesnoy brought something into the ring that audiences worldwide couldn’t get enough of. In an incredible journey from professional fighter to spiritual leader and yogi, the frenchman exhibits an extraordinarily versatile range of passions and talents.
Born and raised in Pas-de-Calais, France, Tom first fell into combat sports at the age of 12 when he took up Sambo, a soviet mixed martial art. This quickly ignited his interest in MMA and the youngster also started training in boxing, wrestling, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Clearly showing a talent for all his pursuits Tom moved to Paris and started fighting in the amateur circle. He dominated the pack with an incredible 7-1 record. In 2012 it was time for Tom to turn pro. He made his professional debut in February of that year, taking the victory by TKO.
Over the following five years Tom fought all over Europe amassing an impressive 14-1 record. In 2015 the champion fighter was named #1 featherweight prospect in the world, and in both 2016 and 2017 the #1 prospect worldwide in all of MMA. During this incredible time in his career Tom was both the undisputed BAMMA Featherweight Champion, and later undisputed BAMMA Bantamweight Champion. In 2017 he made his UFC debut at UFC on FOX 24, once again storming to victory by TKO. Following his retirement in 2019, the former champion turned his sights to all things spiritual and meditative, a world away from his former pursuits. Tom now organises and leads spiritual retreats in Gironde, France, providing all participants with a breath of fresh air away from the stresses of reality with yoga, meditation and other such activities.
