Tom Duquesnoy

Tom Duquesnoy was born on June 21, 1993, in Lens, France. He began his martial arts journey at the age of 12, focusing on sambo before expanding his training to include boxing, wrestling, and Muay Thai. At 18, Duquesnoy relocated to Paris with the goal of pursuing a professional fighting career. He built a notable amateur record of 7 wins and 1 loss before making his professional MMA debut in February 2012. His early career saw him competing across Europe, where he quickly amassed a record of 14 wins, 1 loss, and 1 No Contest.

Duquesnoy’s career progression included winning the BAMMA World Featherweight Championship, which he successfully defended three times. He then moved to the bantamweight division, where he captured the BAMMA World Bantamweight Championship and defended it once. His success in regional organizations led to him being recognized as a top prospect in MMA. In 2015, he was named the #1 featherweight prospect globally, and in both 2016 and 2017, he was ranked the #1 overall prospect in MMA worldwide. His dynamic fighting style, characterized by quick striking, earned him the nickname “Fire Kid.”

In April 2017, Duquesnoy made his debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship at UFC on Fox 24, securing a TKO victory. He continued to compete in the UFC, facing Cody Stamann at UFC 216 in October 2017 and later defeating Terrion Ware at UFC Fight Night 127 in March 2018 by unanimous decision. Due to a rib injury, he withdrew from a scheduled fight at UFC 232 in December 2018. Duquesnoy announced his retirement from professional MMA on May 12, 2019, stating he could no longer be fully devoted to high-level training.
