The brilliant sportsman Tom Pidcock is a professional cyclist, who competes in cyclo-cross, mountain bike and road racing for UCI WorldTeam Ineos Grenadiers. He is an Olympic Champion, a 6x World Champion, and a 3x European Champion. In 2022 he was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire for services to cycling.
Born and raised in Leeds, Pidcock began cycling when he was three-years-old and spent most of his childhood on two wheels. He began competing in junior cyclo-cross, mountain biking, and road racing events, and quickly established himself as a brilliant, winning cyclist. His first Amateur team was the Great Britain Junior Academy, and his first professional team was Telenet-Fidea Lions.
Since 2016, Pidcock has been collecting medals on the international stage representing Great Britain, his first being a Gold in the Junior cyclo-cross event at the 2016 European Championships in Pontchâteau. Since then he has gone on to win a further six medals (four Gold and two Silver) in cyclo-cross at the World Championships and European Championships; two medals (a Gold and a Bronze) in Men’s road cycling at the World Championships; and four Golds in Men’s mountain bike, which includes the Cross-country event at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
