Steve Peters

As a distinguished English psychiatrist, author, and consultant, Professor Steve Peters established a remarkable career, serving two decades as a consultant psychiatrist within the National Health Service. His tenure included pivotal roles as Clinical Director of Mental Health Services and Clinical Director at Bassetlaw District General Hospital, alongside work as a forensic psychiatrist at Rampton Secure Hospital. Concurrently, Professor Peters held significant academic positions at Sheffield University for over 20 years, progressing from Senior Clinical Lecturer and Undergraduate Dean to Professor of Psychiatry, a title he still holds. His commitment to academic excellence is further demonstrated by his master’s degree in medical education, a post-graduate diploma in sports medicine, and a doctorate in medicine, complemented by two Senate awards for teaching excellence.
