Former professional boxer Tommy Hearns hails from the city of Detroit and so it was that he was often called the Motor City Cobra, as well as he Hitman on account of just how hard he punched when in the ring. With a slender but powerful frame, Hearns was able to progress up through the ranks and managed to be the first boxer in the history of the sport to win world titles in four weight divisions, namely at welterweight, light middleweight, middleweight, and light heavyweight. Later in his career he also picked up a super middleweight title and so this made him the first to win world titles in five weight divisions. A tough competitor who was involved in some of the best fights in history, such as the brutal and fast paced bout with Hagler in the Super Middleweight division, Hearns was the 1980 and 1984 Fighter of the Year according to Ring Magazine and picked up the latter title after a one punch knockout of the great Roberto Duran. A real puncher all throughout his career even when he was up at the higher weights, Hearns is fondly remembered by all and is a great addition to any sporting show, TV or radio programme. He is a great guest speaker with lots of tales to tell and also has lots to offer as a brand ambassador with huge appeal around the world. His final fight was on 4 February 2006 against Shannon Landberg and left him with a record of 61 fights and only 5 losses.
