Tremont Waters

Tremont Waters is a professional basketball player known for his skill as a point guard, transitioning from a collegiate standout to an NBA draftee and an international competitor. After earning recognition as the 2017 Gatorade and Register State Player of the Year in Connecticut, Tremont Waters cemented his status as a collegiate standout, committing to Louisiana State University (LSU) and achieving significant milestones from 2017 to 2019. He broke the school record for freshman assists and was a four-time All-SEC honoree, including being named to the Freshman All-SEC Team and Freshman of the Year, All-Louisiana in 2018. In his final collegiate year, Waters earned spots on the All-SEC First Team and All-SEC Defensive Team, additionally being recognized as SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Year for the 2018-19 season.

His contributions were pivotal in 2024, helping the Puerto Rico men’s national basketball team qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics, where he averaged 15.3 points, 1.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.5 steals during the Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Building on his diverse career, Waters signed with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) in 2024, broadening his professional footprint. Currently, he is focused on rehabilitation following a partial Achilles tendon rupture sustained in February 2025, with an expected return to basketball activities projected within 9-10 months.
