Known as an American professional ice hockey forward, Trent Frederic plays for Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League. Frederic first began to professionally play hockey while he was attending De Smet Jesuit High School for the U.S. National Team Development Program. During high school, Frederic also played football. Frederic also played hockey for the University of Wisconsin in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. While in his freshman season with the Badgers, Frederic was named to the All-Big Ten second team and Big Ten All Freshman team. This came as a result of him finishing fourth among all freshmen in points-per-game and reaching the highest point total on the team. He was also named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, and he was the first Wisconsin player to have earned this title since 1999-2000. In 2017-2018, Frederic was named an alternate captain for his sophomore year. He then led the Badgers with 17 goals, 15 assists and 32 points in a total of 36 games. In the spring of 2018, Frederic’s success led him to sign a three-year entry-level contract with the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League. Frederic began playing in the 2018-2019 season. Frederic wore number 82 on his first ever callup to Boston’s NHL team, which took place on January 28 2019. Frederic’s most recent success was his first NHL goal in the 7-3 win against Philadelphia Flyers during the NHL Outdoors at Lake Tahoe event, on February 2021.
