Trent Sieg

Trent Sieg was born on May 19, 1995, in Greeley, Colorado. He attended Eaton High School, where he excelled in football as a tight end and linebacker, contributing to a Patriot League championship. Sieg also earned academic All-Colorado honors in his junior and senior years and lettered in baseball and basketball. He continued his academic and athletic career at Colorado State University, where he accepted a football scholarship. During his college tenure from 2013 to 2017, Sieg played in every game, making 51 consecutive appearances as a long snapper and never missing a game. He snapped to Ray Guy Award finalist Hayden Hunt and received Academic All-Mountain West Conference honors multiple times, demonstrating consistency in both his athletic and academic pursuits.

Sieg entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent, first signing with the Baltimore Ravens in 2018. After a brief period with the Ravens, he was signed by the Oakland Raiders in September 2018. He quickly established himself as the primary long snapper for the Raiders, playing in 15 games in his rookie season and contributing to Daniel Carlson’s franchise record for field goal percentage. He maintained his role as the long snapper for the Raiders as the team transitioned to Las Vegas, signing a three-year contract extension in 2021. During his five seasons with the Raiders, Sieg appeared in 80 games, facilitating multiple franchise records for kickers and punters and showcasing his reliability.

In 2023, Sieg signed with the Dallas Cowboys, bringing his veteran experience to their special teams unit. He was instrumental in supporting first-year kicker Brandon Aubrey, who went on to set multiple NFL and franchise records. Sieg continued to demonstrate his value, re-signing with the Cowboys in March 2024. His career progression highlights his durability and consistent performance in a specialized but critical position within professional football, making him a reliable asset for any special teams unit.
